CHOZN® Cell Lines

We have created a series of zinc finger nuclease (ZFN) modified CHO cell lines with characteristics that are attractive in a platform cell line to biopharmaceutical developers and manufacturers. 

CHOZN® & UCOE® Combined Platform

The UCOE (Ubiquitous Chromatin Opening Elements) technology uses naturally occurring DNA sequences capable of creating and maintaining open chromatin to enable high, stable transgene expression, regardless of the integration site. When included in a plasmid alongside the transgene of interest, these UCOE elements greatly increase the number of high expressing clones that can be isolated within a single cell line development process.

Cell Line Engineering and Development

Our CHOZN® platform development experts leverage several molecular biology technologies, most notably CompoZr® Zinc Finger Nuclease Technology, to engineer mammalian lines for customers to use in bioproduction. Our mission is to facilitate customer’s research and manufacturing needs through application of our experience in cell engineering technologies. We can also perform custom cell line development of recombinant cell lines in our CHOZN® GS CHO cell line. Alternatively, we can perform the work in your host cell line.

CHOZN® Media and Feed System

Our new EX-CELL® Advanced media and feed system was designed and optimized for the CHOZN® GS cell line using multiple molecules, including mAbs and fusion proteins, resulting in 3-5 fold increases in therapeutic productivity while maintaining critical protein attributes. The EX-CELL® Advanced system has been shown to support in excess of 5g/L in CHOZN® platform cell line.

CompoZr® Zinc Finger Nucleases

Zinc Finger Nucleases (ZFN) are a class of engineered DNA-binding proteins that facilitate targeted editing of the genome by creating double-strand breaks in DNA at user-specified locations. ZFN technology allows for easy creation of novel cell lines, including CHO, with precise and heritable gene additions, deletions or modifications.
